The Federal Association Bundesverband MEDIATION e.V. was founded in May 1992 and is one of the first mediation associations in Germany. The founders of the association are among the pioneers of mediation in Germany.

Interdisciplinary Association

Today, the BM is an interdisciplinary association for mediation, active throughout Germany. Its main objective is the dissemination and further development of conflict management.

Largest Mediator Association

With more than 2500 members, mediators, mediator associations and other mediation practitioners working in all areas of mediation, the Federal Association Bundesverband MEDIATION is an inclusive association, which is open to various professional orientations and professions of origin.

Activities of the BM

Every two years, the Federal Association Bundesverband MEDIATION organizes a nationwide congress, annual specialist conferences as well as one general meeting each year. The journal "Spektrum der Mediation" [Spectrum of Mediation] is published by us and sent to members and interested parties. In addition to these diverse association activities in external relations, the BM has also been working on developing clear and reliable internal structures within the framework of a mission statement and organizational development process since 2007.

Mediators who meet our standards and training guidelines can be licensed by us and thus be eligible to wear the protected name and seal Mediatorin BM® / Mediator BM®.
